What is Historly?

Historly sells exclusive posters focusing on historical motifs online. The history behind the works, quality and exclusivity are in focus in everything we do. Our office is located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Where do the motifs come from?

All motifs have been carefully selected from different archives. Historly also collaborates with artists, photographers and those who own rights to historical images and art. We are constantly expanding our collections.

I can not find the motif or artist I am looking for, can you help me?
Yes and yes! We are expanding our collections as fast as we can, but we need your help to prioritize the right motif, photographer and artist! Write to us and describe what you are looking for and we will do our best to produce it for you! Examples can be a certain work, a certain artist, an old photograph of the street you live on, an old map of the district you live in or a famous quote by someone you find inspiring.


What do Historlys posters cost?
Prices vary depending on size. VAT is included in the price. We offer always free shipping and you can choose to see all prices in your preferred currency. All transactions take place in SEK. 
30 x 40 cm: 320 SEK
40 x 50 cm: 420 SEK
50 x 70 cm: 520 SEK
70 x 100 cm: 720 SEK

What paper do you use?

We are very proud to only work with paper from Hahnemühle, one of the world's absolutely leading manufacturers of fine art paper. Vour customers feels that Hahnemühle's paper gives the works a more exclusive expression. Paper types called Hahnemühle Matt Fiber 200g and has a warm tone which gives the motifs a fantastic depth. The paper is matte and has a very soft surface with a nice texture. The paper is free from acid and has a very low OBA content. If you store and assemble our posters correctly, you can count on them lasting up to 60 years!

What is the resolution and cropping of the images?

Since some pictures are over 100 years old, they are naturally a bit more blurred and blurry than completely new pictures - we think that is part of the charm! All our products are of good quality and have been carefully inspected by us. The motifs are cropped slightly differently to fit optimally in each poster size. 

Included mat?

Yes, we have chosen to integrate the mat digitally, directly in the image to create an exclusive, luxurious feeling. We do not offer separate / loose mats. 

Is it a picture frame?

Frame not included but we offer several wooden frames and metal frames with plexiglass in good quality at competitive prices.

Where are Historlys posters produced?

We produce all our posters in Sweden.

I love a motif, but want to make changes to the product, how do I do it?
For individual requests for changes or exclusion of title, passepartout or other, you are welcome email us at or use ours contact form we will be back as soon as we can! 


Do I receive a physical receipt with me in the delivery? 

Receipts and shipping notes are digital and sent to your specified e-mail address. Should your order be sent as a gift directly to the recipient, we recommend that you use your own e-mail address at checkout if you want the delivery to be a surprise. 

Can I send a personal message in my gift from Historly?

For individual inquiries such as minor personal messages, please contact us at before you place your order, we will investigate the matter further!

Do you offer gift cards?
Yes we do. You can find the gift cards in the menu or by searching for gift cards in the search box


Which countries do you deliver to and what does it cost? 

We deliver to the whole world! Shipping is completely free! 

How long is your delivery time?
Delivery time in the Nordic countries is about 1-3 working days. 
In others Europa, the delivery time is 2-5 working days. 
In other parts of the world, the delivery time is about 3-8 working days. 
    Which agent does the package come to?
    Your order is sent by DHL to your nearest delivery point. Unfortunately, you can not choose the delivery point yourself, but DHL automatically decides which is your nearest delivery point based on the address you provided when ordering. You can clearly see in the agent the package has arrived when you receive the package when it arrives.


    What payment options do you offer?

    You can pay with Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also offer payment via Klarna so that it is as safe and easy as possible to shop from us. Via Klarna, you can pay by card and against invoice. You can choose to pay directly, 14 days later or split the payment over a certain period. Read more about Klarna's payment terms here.

    Who pays any customs duties?
    Depending on the country you are transporting to, the delivery may mean that certain customs duties and taxes will be added. You as a customer are responsible for paying these.

    Right of withdrawal and returns

    I made a mistake in my order, can you change or cancel it? 

    Contact us as soon as possible after you place your order and we will do everything we can to help you. Email the changes you want to and do not forget to enter the order number. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee that we will have time to make the changes in time, but you always have a 30-day right of withdrawal as long as you do not break / open the seal on the goods. 

    Can I return a poster and what do I do then?
    We offer 30 days open purchase and free returns for valid ones. The product must be returned in undamaged original packaging and be in salable new condition. The right of exchange and return cannot be exercised if the product is specially adapted. Frames are delivered with a protective plastic that must not be opened if you want the right to return a frame. Poysters are delivered sealed with a sticker over the tissue paper in which it is wrapped. You must not break / open the seal if you want to be able to exercise your right of withdrawal. 

    If you wish to make a return, please email us at and enter your name, order number / invoice number and which items you want to return including their product name and quantity. We will send a return code that you take with you with your ID to an optional DHL Service Point within 14 days of you notifying us of the return. When we receive the product, we will check that the seal has not been broken / opened and that the goods have no unreasonable wear and / or damage before we make a refund. We apply a complete reduction in value if the product is not in salable new condition. 

    Can I return a frame and what do I do then?
    We offer 30 days open purchase and free returns for valid ones. Ramen must be unopened and returned in undamaged original packaging in salable new condition. See how to return in the section above!


    What do I do if I want to complain about the product?
    All complaints (damaged or incorrect goods) must be made within one week of receipt of delivery. Complaints are sent to with an explanation and attached picture of the error or damageHistorly will replace the faulty product with a new one.
