A fantastic portrait in blue tones of beautiful Carin Östberg - daughter of Sweden, under sekthe electricity shift, the richest man and whose art collection became the basis for the Thiel Gallery; Ernest Jacques Thiel. Carin was well known in Sweden, partly for her father and for her beauty. Among other things, she was married to Ragnar Östberg, the architect who designed the City Hall in Stockholm and became with him the mother of Susanna Ramel, who in turn married the famous musician Povel Ramel.

The artist for the work was Axel Törneman and was one of the first Swedish expressionist artists. Some of his paintings are seen as the most important breakthrough work in Swedish modernism.
