René Le Bègue was a French photographer who lived between 1857–1914. He is the most known for his photographs of undressed and naked women printed on paper in an experimental way to get a graphic and artistic expression.

The camera was a relatively new invention and became a popular medium for many artists to experiment with during this time period. They explored complex printing techniques that imitated other graphic art. Le Bègue has chosen a clear orange pigment to manipulate the photograph with in order to produce similarities with a lime drawing. This picture was taken in year 1903.
