Poster with the painting Blue Eva by John Bauer from 1918. The painting is considered one of John Bauer's last works when he died with his family in November of the same year when the steamer Per Brahe sunk in an autumn storm on Lake Vättern.

In the picture we see a naked woman kneeling in a diffuse landscape of plants in shades of blue. Her gaze is turned to a black snake on the left. She looks to pick the fruit that hangs in the tree above her. Is it the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden? The tension frame that belongs to the original painting reads: "Blue Princess 1918" and "Eve with the snake". The work is known as Blue Eva and is typical of the monumental art that Bauer focused on between 1915-1918 when he resigned as an illustrator to Among Gnomes and Trolls and wanted to do something new than their classic fairy tale motifs.

John Bauer has had a great influence on Nordic folklore and storytelling and is one of Sweden's most beloved artists of all time.
