Posts with the painting Branch of the Seine near Giverny of Claude Monet from 1897. Monet painted 18 works during his morning walks on the river Seine. Monet anchored her flat-bottomed boat on the river bank and painted several works when the light shifted between sunrise and morning. Claude Monet was born in 1840 in Paris and, together with Auguste Renoir, was one of the foremost pioneers of Impressionism and was also the one who gave name to the movement through his painting Impression. Sunrise from 1872.

Monet was close friends with another famous artist Eduardo Manet who, among other things, painted A Parisian LadyWith the help of Manet, Monet, in 1871, got hold of a residence in a suburb of Paris by name Argenteuil. After the move, Monet began one of the most productive phases of his career and created many of his most famous works.
