Poster with picture on Idun which was one of Sweden's first women's magazines and was founded in 1887. The magazine was started with the aim of being a "practical weekly magazine for women and the home". The magazine had tips such as how to best cook or sew. The magazine gradually developed to include more elements of repertoire, fashion and political debate.

In the autumn of 1921, the first parliamentary elections took place where women were both entitled to vote and to stand for election. On the front page from Idun in 1922, the first five women elected to the Swedish Parliament can be seen: Elisabeth Tamm, Nelly Thüring, Bertha Wellin, Kerstin Hesselgren and Agda Östlund. For those who want to learn more about these five strong and highly inspiring women, we recommend it documentary now available on SVT Play
