The public city elevator Katarinahissen seen from Slussen sometime in between 1895-1900. The Katarina lift is not only a public lift but also Stockholm's most famous lift. The lift and its footbridge between Stadsgården and Mosebacke were built by engineer Knut Lindmark to make it easier for people to get around. The elevator was inaugurated in 1883. It cost 5 öre for the ascent with the elevator and 3 öre for the descent. See our second picture of the Katarina lift from a different angle and in landscape format here
