Wall mural with the fantastic painting Woman With a Parasol - Madame Monet and Her Son from 1875 by Claude Monet (1849-1926) depicting his wife and son on a lush summer meadow outside Paris.
The painting was created outdoors and probably in a single session lasting several hours. Monet wanted to create a familiar and relaxed feeling in the picture instead of a more traditional family portrait. The painting and composition give the feeling of a spontaneously captured moment that is enhanced by strong colors and a wind that sweeps through the dress.
Claude Monet was born in 1840 in Paris and, together with Auguste Renoir, was one of the foremost pioneers of Impressionism and was also the one who gave name to the movement through his painting Impression. Sunrise from 1872.
Monet was close friends with another famous artist Eduardo Manet who, among other things, painted A Parisian Lady. With the help of Manet, Monet, in 1871, got hold of a residence in a suburb of Paris by name Argenteuil. After the move, Monet began one of the most productive phases of his career and created many of his most famous works.
