Poster with Vädersolstavlan which is one of the oldest known images of Stockholm from 1535 (recreated in 1931). The painting shows what Stockholm looked like during the latter part of the Middle Ages seen from the heights of Söder.

The painting hangs today in Storkyrkan, which was also pointed out as the client of the work. The name of the painting comes from the weather suns, the optical solar phenomenon that it depicts. For those interested, we strongly recommend searching for Vädersolstavlan online as there is a long and interesting story behind it!
