In this painting from the late 1800th century by Carl Johan Billmark, Skeppsbron in Stockholm is depicted. The ship's bridge is located in the Old Town and was one of the main traffic routes for a long time and is also Stockholm's oldest quay.

As early as the early 1600th century, the quay was a port for larger ships and a bustling trading post. Skeppsbron continued to be Stockholm's most important quay during the 1700th century. In the late 1800th century, the quay lost its status as a trading place but continued to be an important port for passenger ships until the late 1900th century.
