Broder Sankt Martin och de tre trollen är en känd målning av John Bauer. Bilden publicerades först tillsammans med en saga i Among elves and trolls år 1913. Sagan handlar om Munken Sankt Martin som har gått från Sigtuna till Bergslagen för att berätta om den gud han tror på. Men folket där ville inte lyssna. På vägen hem gick han vilse i skogen och träffade på troll, älvor och andra väsen i den djupa, mörka skogen. På bilden ser vi honom i klädd sin huva hålla upp en hand mot tre troll.
 

John Bauer is known for his fairy tale motifs with trolls and princesses and he has had a great influence on Swedish folklore and storytelling.
