Wall mural with the painting The Postman from 1889 by the Impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh probably met the postman Joseph Étienne-Roulin, who worked at Arles train station in the south of France, when he rented a room above a café in the city.

The postman and Van Gogh became close friends, much thanks to their common political views. It was Roulin who took care of Van Gogh when he was admitted to the mental hospital where he also painted his most famous painting - The Starry Night

Van Gogh is one of history's and the western world's most famous artists and has created over 2 works of art, of which 100 are oil paintings where the majority of the paintings were created in the last two years of his life.

Van Gogh's paintings are colorful and dramatic with an impulsive and expressionist style. Van Gogh saw no commercial success during his lifetime, but his works became popular only after his death. He died of suicide at the age of 37 after a period of mental illness, depression and poverty.
