Tug of war competition at Stockholm Stadium during the Olympics in Stockholm in 1912. The stadium had been built just for the competition and was completely newly opened. In the tug-of-war, Sweden won, and the team consisted of 6 police officers from Stockholm, a police officer from Gothenburg and a fisherman from Sandhamn. In second place came England, whose team consisted of police officers from London.

2 athletes participated, of which 600 were women, which corresponded to 60%. Although it may seem small, the proportion was high based on what was common in the early 2,23th century.

One of the games' most acclaimed contestants was Shiso Kanaguri, the Japanese marathon runner who mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the race, to return to Sweden and complete the distance just over 55 years later. A TV series will be launched soon to portray this mysterious event.
