Poster with a beautiful painting of Ulriksdals Slott painted by King Charles XV of Sweden (1826–1872).
Charles XV was king of Sweden and Norway between 1859 and 1872. He married Princess Lovisa of the Netherlands. Charles XV loved to paint and devoted a large part of his life to painting in the romantic style of the time and played a major role in art in Sweden through the strong support he gave many artists.
Ulriksdals Slott is located in Solna, Stockholm and began to be built in the style of the late Renaissance in 1638. The castle quickly became a popular destination for nobility and royalty. Queen Kristina loved Ulriksdals Slott so much that she let her coronation procession in 1650 start from here.
The board View of Ulriksdal became a gift from Baroness Adelswärd to the National Museum in Stockholm in 1885.
